Qaint lil place. It was very busy for a small place. I can see why they have lots of stars. The food portions were big, and I needed a little seasoning on the food. Not listed of items below, chicken livers. Cooked to perfection. The people & staff seem to be great people. Will see about coming back when in the area.

We wanted to try a restaurant outside of Lexington, so I did some research and found this place. It is small so it has limited seating. We sat at the bar which was neat because we could watch them make the food. I didn’t realize they were known for their burger until we saw signs in the restaurant. If a restaurant is popular for a certain item I usually try to go with that item. They were extremely busy inside and it looked like they also did quite a bit of take out. It took a while to get the food but honestly every staff member were working as quickly as possible to keep up. At one point there were over 10 burgers on the grill. One waitress was a bit friendly than another but over good customer service. The couple next to us had the open-faced roast beef. If I had seen that before we ordered I probably would have gone with that because it looked GREAT. They said that every time they go to this restaurant that dish is what they get. The burger had a good cook on the meat, but it did not wow me. It seemed to be lacking some flavor from the burger itself. I was not a huge fan of the chili on the chili cheese fries but that is personal preference. My biggest issue is that I didn’t get the food item I wanted. Originally, I ordered the Bacon & Beer Cheeseburger but they were out of Beer Cheese. So, I chose the Cowboy burger…but they were out of Jalapenos. I ended up getting the Cliffside Burger.

We wanted to get away for a night; looking on the map for just someplace different to try, we found this little....and I do mean little, diner. We booked a room in town for Saturday night and excitedly drove 207 miles from Columbus, Ohio, just to go to this one little diner - no other agenda for our short trip. Their hours were listed as Saturday and Sunday 8:30 am - 4 pm. We got there just after 3 pm to be saddened by the fact that their new hours posted showed them closing at 3 pm.... we really wanted to try their burgers. We went there for breakfast on Sunday morning, a little after the early morning breakfast rush. The little diner was full but we got right in with no waiting, we sat right down at the counter, taking in everything about the diner, from its customer base, its fun decor, and to its people working hard to keep their customers fed and happy. Their very obviously regular customers were friendly, fun, and very engaged with everything and everyone the entire time that we were there. We tried the meat omelet and the breakfast Kentucky hot brown; neither one disappointed us. The ladies working that morning were simply delightful! The manager was amazing with her crew and kept things moving with a light-hearted attitude. There was only one line cook, working hard...."Kudos to you"!! Not one order was cooked wrong, and nothing returned for any reason during our visit. As we left to head home, we were planning out our next trip down there to try their burgers. This is a must for anyone looking for a great diner experience. Good people, good food, and a great experience all the way around. It's worth the drive!!

The food here was absolutely amazing! I almost cried because it was so much like what my mama cooked when I was growing up. Can't recommend this place enough!

Don't stop here if you're in a hurry. The food does take a while and seems to be some confusion between staff. Sausage wasn't that good. Food came out cold, and the tea was old or very cheap.

I hadn’t eaten here in awhile and was ready for some of the cooking I remembered. I got there kinda late but they said never mind, got my order and I was chowing down in no time flat. The people are super nice and the food was as good as it ever was - meat loaf, fried potatoes with cheese and onions and lima beans like your mama made! For classic American food, from a menu with so many great choices, you can’t do better than Cliffside!

Fantastic locally owned spot in Frankfort. The staff is friendly, the food is consistent, and the atmosphere is just right for a diner. There are a lot of options on the menu (We usually get the Cliffside burger plate and the fish dinner platter), and even on a packed day in the middle of lunch, you can still get your food within 15-20 minutes.

This little hidden diner tucked behind the Capitol of Kentucky has incredible burgers, cheesesteaks, hot browns , beans and cornbread and many other favorite comfort foods. Known for their delicious burgers but on this trip we had a hot brown and an open face roast beef. Taters, green beans, bean soup and corn bread. Loved every bite of it! The place is a small diner with very limited seating, some booths and counter seating. Groups over 4 might find it hard to sit together unless at the bar. The staff was friendly. Parking is right in the curb on a cliff so be very careful when pulling out. I highly recommend getting a bite there when I’m Frankfort.
